IMMUNIZATIONS


This is to inform you of recent changes to Preschool immunization requirements passed by the Regulations Review Committee.

1) "Effective August 1, 2011, all students born after 01/01/2007, enrolled in Preschool, who are less than 5 years of age, must show proof of having received (1) dose of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) given on or after the student's first birth date."

2) "Effective August 1, 2011, all students born on or after 01/01/2007, who are enrolled in Preschool, must show proof of having recved two (2) doses of Hepatitis A vaccine given at least six (6) months apart with the first dose given on or after the student's first birth date"

3) "Effective August 1, 2011 and each January 1st thereafter, children aged 24-59 months enrolled in Preschool are required to receive least one dose of Influenza vaccine between August 1 and December 31 of the preceding year. All childrenaged 24-59 months who have not received vaccination against influenza previously should receive two (2) doses of vaccine the first influenza season that they are vaccinated.

This is to inform you of recent changes to the 7th grade immunization requirements that were passed by the Regulations Review Committee.

1) “Effective August 1, 2011, all students entering Grade 7 must show proof of having received two (2) doses of varicella vaccine” – this is for those students who previously received a single dose of vaccine, (to assure full and lasting protection).
2) “Effective August 1, 2011, all Grade 7 students must show proof of having received a Tdap booster vaccine.”
3) “Effective August 1, 2011, all Grade 7 students must show proof of having received a dose of meningococcal vaccine. Also known as MCV4 or Menactra.

WITHOUT DOCUMENTATION OF THESE REGULATIONS, YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ENTRY INTO PRESCHOOL OR 7TH GRADE AS INDICATED ABOVE.
